Give each time a name
Half-life is the time for a drug's blood concentration to fall by half. A hormone response is a change in a body signal. A health outcome might be weight change or whether someone can eat after surgery. Those are different observations.
When all three get shortened to ‘how long it lasts’, the comparison starts doing tricks. A number of hours in blood can end up beside months of treatment as though they mean the same thing. They don't.
The multi-day CJC-1295 finding came from DAC research in healthy adults. DAC is an added part that helps the compound stay in blood. The form without it can't borrow that result. The roughly two-hour ipamorelin result came from infusions into a vein in healthy men; that route matters too.
Keep reading after the blood result
The tesamorelin label reports about 11 minutes for its half-life in healthy people. Yet trials watched deep abdominal fat over months in adults with HIV and lipodystrophy, a change in body-fat distribution. Short blood exposure and longer observation can fit together.
Semaglutide gives us another useful view. The STEP 1 weight trial ran for 68 weeks. Its follow-up found substantial weight regain after treatment and structured lifestyle support ended. The on-treatment result wasn't the whole story.
The tesamorelin follow-up also found deep abdominal fat returning after a switch to placebo, a dummy treatment. That doesn't make the two medicines alike. It shows why the time after stopping deserves its own look.
There isn't a winner in this table of times
A hormone response doesn't guarantee a useful result. In the ipamorelin bowel-surgery trial, the main comparison didn't establish that people could tolerate a meal sooner. Knowing its half-life wouldn't have supplied that missing benefit.
Safety doesn't fit on a shortest-to-longest list either. CJC-1295 and ipamorelin have no FDA-approved medical uses. Approved semaglutide and tesamorelin products have specific uses and warnings. Sharing the word ‘peptide’ doesn't erase those differences.
My quick reading check is: which form, which people, which result, which period? The individual pages on CJC-1295, ipamorelin, semaglutide and tesamorelin leave room for those answers.
